On the 1.6 engine, the sensor should be located underneath the intake manifold (the pipes above the spark plugs). If you look in under the manifold from the passenger side of the car you can barely see it, but to get a good look at it you'll need a hand mirror. The plug comes out of a metal tube that's a few inches long facing the passenger side. As for how you get it out, the Haynes manual on the car says it comes off with an open-ended wrench, end of story. After taking a look at it, though, it seems a little more complicated than that since the sensor has no clear way of coming out of the tube. From what I can see the entire block that the sensor tube is part of has to come off, requiring you to first remove the intake manifold. Good luck
