...on the 2006 Trailblazer the EVAP emissions control system vent valve solenoid is located on the rear inboard side of the fuel tank near the rear axle and drive shaft. Removing the spare tire allows you to look over the axle to the left of the differential and access the Solenoid assembly.
***It all depends on what type of vehicle you are driving, but I have found several brands and models with them located on the firewall just behind the wheels or under the wheel well guards in the front. Good luck.***

You may be talking about the fuel vent. The evaporation emission control valve. If so, it is on the line running out of the fuel tank.
