if you look towards the left of the engine there is a black hose going into the engine with a big plastic nut....just twist the black nut and then pull the hose out and you should see the PCV valve hanging from the end. Just pull it off and replace....
I would say that my 1998 S-10 does not have a PCV valve, at all, anywhere.
i don't see why not the 2.2 was used in 95 and 96 should fit right in

On the oil fill cap side of the valve cover. To access the PCV valve you will need to remove the protective plastic cover mounted over the valve cover area.Two small nuts are holding it in place. Unlike other PCV valves you may have changed in the past, this one is screwed into the valve cover instead of being inserted into a grommet. You will need a 22 mm deep socket or a suitable wrench to remove it.
