fire needs oxygen.your car uses petrol.so your car needs oxygen to burn the petrol.the sound comes from the air box located somewhere under your bonnet. if you have a turbo car then the sound of air is multiplied as the turbo rushes the air inside your engine alot quicker. but you might be doing well over the limit and your window or sunroof is open :D

Have a helper pump the pedal several times then hold it down. Open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder, til air stops coming out. Close the valve, have the helper release the pedal then repeat the process till air stops coming out.
