The battery is located in the front of the car - under the hood, in an area just below the windshield. It has a plastic battery cover over it, which can be removed by twisting a couple of locking tabs. Access is then straightforward

There is no such thing as a 2003 996 Twin Turbo S. The Turbo S is a 2005 ONLY year for the 996 cars. The 2005 Turbo S is in fact the same thing as a 996 (2002-2004) with the x50 package, and pccb (and a few other standard features added to the 2005 Turbo S that were 'options' for the previous years).
