The brake switch is located on the arm of the petal up toward the lower dash. You may need to remove the lower dash it to get to it. Sometimes the switch is faulty but most of the time it just needs to be tightened. This is very simple there is no need for a mechanic.

The light assy has to be removed to take the bulbs out.

Just check all the fuses one at a time. It may also be a defective brake light switch. The switch is located somewhere mounted on the brake pedal lever.
