I'm guessing a little here, but look under the trunk floor where your spare is located. The jack for my '96 is in a Styrofoam container in the spare tire well.
It's a good idea to know where it is. It's also a good idea to make sure that the lug wrench fits your lug nuts. My '96 has after market wheels. I found out the hard way that the lug wrench doesn't fit their nuts. Fortunately, I have AAA. They came out and changed the tire for me.
In order to wire the starter on a Pontiac Sunfire, you will need a jack, jack stand, socket set, and a torque wrench. You will need to make sure to remove the battery cables from the battery.
for one you need to loosen your lug nuts before you jack up the car,
You will have to get to them from under the car. Jack the front up and secure it with jack stands. Don't forget to brace the rear tires from rolling. When you look up you should be able to look up and trace the wire to the light.
Easier to just jack the car up so that you can get under it look for the blinker bulb assembly twist it should come out if you line up the holes replace and reinsert
ITS LOCATED BEWTEEN THE TRUNK AND GAS TANK SCREWDRIVER 5/8 AND 13/16 WRENCH SOME THING TO CATCH THE GAS FROM THE LINE IN [MAKE SURE YOU DO IT OUT SIDE] [WATCH OUT FOR THE GAS IN THE LINE] I TOOK A FLOOR JACK AND JACKED UP THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR TOOK MAY BE 1/2 HOUR TO DO.RELIEVE THE FUEL PRESSURE FIRST BEFORE SERVICING THE FUEL SYSTEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!******************
You will have to disconnect fuel lines and evap. hoses and drop the fuel tank. Be careful if it is full. You have to have the car up on jack stands with plenty of clearance. Be careful not to force it or you will break off the hose connections at the tank and then will have to buy the complete and very expensive assembly.
under the passager seat.
Under the spare tire.
Under the front passenger seat
If it is a standard cab, the jack should be behind the passenger side of the front seat.
You might hear loud squeaking noises. jack up the front end and try to wiggle the wheel. if it wiggles then it could be the bearing. You could be hearing a grinding noise also.
Back by the gas tank, just jack the car up and follow the fuel line from the tank and you will find it.
