On any Windows computer press Alt 0247, or in MS word select- insert / symbol, the ÷ is available in most fonts, why not make your own shortcut to it?
On a Mac keyboard, alt plus / = ÷
Is this the division sign you mean: ÷ ?
I typed Alt-246. Press and hold the Alt key while you type 2 4 6 on the numeric keypad, not the numbers across the top of the keyboard. You need to have Num-lock on.
I use this most often to insert the degree symbol, which is Alt-248: °
Another useful one is Alt-241, which is the plus or minus symbol: ±
These are extended ASCII codes. They work on a PC.

You will not find the traditional division sign (÷) on a computer keyboard. Most computer systems use the / key to represent division. The extended ASCII code is 247 [÷ in HTML].
Use ALT + 0247 to get the divide sign: ÷
it's on the zero button
on the top hlf
I can't find it
There is none on the keyboard.
On a keyboard, the division sign often used in schools ( ÷ ) is not typically present, instead the solidus or 'forward slash' ( / ) should be used.

It is the forward slash, '/' that signifies a division on the qwerty keyboard: 15 / 3 = 5 for example. If you use copy and paste on a calculator: 15 ÷ 3 = 5 you can paste in the division symbol.
