The evaporator will be located in front of the radiator. If you're replacing it, it'll involve opening up the system, which means that either the receiver-drier (on a Thermal Expansion Valve system) or the accumulator (on a Fixed Orifice Tube system) will have to be replaced, as well.
Legally, you cannot do this on your own. An ASE certified tech in an EPA approved shop must do this in order to ensure that refrigerant is not released into the atmosphere. Additionally, a system diagnosis should be performed to identify problems in the AC system and test for leaks, and the refrigerant must be measured properly when the system is recharged. This requires specialised equipment which a backyard mechanic is not going to have.
