In your power distribution box in your engine compartment , the fuse for the fuel
pump is # 23 , it is a 20 amp mini-fuse . Ford recommends disconnecting your battery
before servicing anything in the PD BOX .

According to my Chilton repair manual , fuse # 16 is a 15 amp fuse for the fuel gauge on a 1994 Ford Ranger
Fuse ( # 17 ) is a 20 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter and Data Link Connector on a 2001 Ford Ranger if there is no power
I was looking at the 2001 Ford Ranger Owner Guide ( for North America ) and it shows : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment , near the brake fluid reservoir : ( the # 23 mini fuse is a 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump motor ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also , if you have the 2.3 liter four cylinder engine ( 46A is the fuel pump relay ) The 3.0 and 4.0 it's ( 50B )
The fuel pump on a 91 Ford Ranger is controlled by the starter fuse and relay. This relay is located under the hood. It will be located by the fender on the drivers side.
The 1992 Ford Ranger does not have a fuel pump shutoff switch. You can disable the fuel pump by removing the fuel pump fuse.
