under the back seat at least it is for my Opel astra 1.6 1996.
My car had starting problems (it was recovered from a junk heap) I attributed it to clogging of fuel line.Later it refused to start.I then thought of cleaning the fuel delivery system.But on second thoughts I connected the pump terminal (red wire) directly to the battery and eureka the car roared into life!!!!!
