Look under the hood in the fuse box that is usuallly were it is.
Yes it will if the 96 is a standard Mark Vlll, if the 96 is a LSC model it won't.

The main headlight relay is mounded in the fuse box under the air filter. The relay for timed headlights is in the relay box under the center of the dash.
A 96 Bonneville should have a relay in the headlight timer circuit. Check the relay as it is most likely stuck and needs replacing

The Headlight Relay, identified as HEADLAMP, is in the Driver's Side Instrument Panel Fuse Block. Just pull it out and replace with new one. See page 5-96 of your "Owner's Manual" for location...
There isn't a high beam relay but there are headlight relays located in the engine compartment. There are two, one of the driver side and one for the passenger side.
