The human heart pumps oxyginated blood through your veins.

The human heart pumps oxygenated blood to all parts of the body through arteries.
It pumps the blood around. :)
The heart receives blood from all over the body, and pumps that blood to the lungs. While the blood is in the lungs, it drops off all the carbon dioxide it picked up in the tissues, and picks up oxygen. This blood is then carried back to the heart, which pumps it out to the rest of the body. In this sense, the heart plays a vital role in providing our tissues with oxygen (via blood), and is thus responsible for survival of all other tissues (including the brain, which paradoxically controls heart function).
In short: It pumps the blood around.
But there is a reason that blood needs to be pumped around. Every cell in your body is like a small factory, making things, taking things and making waste. So it needs to be supplied with nutrients, and it needs to have someplace to dump the waste. That is what blood is for: it transports the nutrients in and the waste out. But it can make the nutrients appear on it's own, nor can it make the waste disappear, so it needs to be moved, iow. pumped to somewhere where it can get nutrients and dump waste of it's own. That is what the hart is for.
