I'm not 100% sure, however, I do have a 1981 Mark VI (nearly the same car) and mine is located in a housing mounted near the driver's side lift support in the trunk. It's completely hidden inside the housing, but if you follow the wires that are there, it'll lead you right to it. The actual button is on top, and to shut off the pump, you pull the button up, to reactivate the pump, push it in. If your car uses a mechanical fuel pump, though, it won't have an inertia switch. A mechanical pump is operated by the fuel pump eccentric mounted to the camshaft timing gear. You will be able to tell if it is a mechanical fuel pump by looking at the driver's side of the timing cover. If there is a plate with two bolts there, it's not mechanical. If there is a unit mounted to the timing cover with fuel line running to it, then it is mechanical. Hope this is helpful!

To locate the fuel inertia switch in a 1986 Lincoln Mark VII, first, check the trunk area. The switch is typically situated on the right side, near the back panel or near the fuel tank access. If you don't find it there, look under the dashboard on the passenger side, as it may be mounted on the firewall or in a nearby area. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and diagrams.
Bypassing the inertia switch in a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII involves locating the switch, typically found near the fuel tank or under the dashboard. You can bypass it by connecting the two terminals of the switch with a jumper wire, effectively allowing fuel to flow without interruption. However, this is not recommended as it can pose safety risks; instead, it's advisable to troubleshoot the underlying issue that caused the switch to trip. Always prioritize safety and consider consulting a professional mechanic for electrical issues.
There was no 1990 Lincoln Mark VI. The final year for production of the Mark VI was 1983.
