Ford vehicles have this switch, no GM vehicle use an inertia switch.

If you crimp the three wires running to the inertia switch together and remove the switch, it will close the circuit thus bypassing the swich. I have a 1993 Ford Probe SE that this has been done to and as of yet it has no direct or indirect complications from doing this.
