It is in the rubber snoot that comes off the TB
To connect the temperature sensor on a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am, first locate the sensor, which is typically situated near the engine block or intake manifold. Disconnect the battery for safety, then remove the old sensor if necessary. Connect the new temperature sensor by plugging it into the wiring harness and securing it in place. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for proper operation.

In the cylinder head
the side of your transmission.. and its not a sensor its a gear.
I believe it is on the front of the intake manifold and it should be the second largest one. I believe the largest is the air charge temp sensor
On a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am with the LS1 5.7L engine, the map sensor is located on the intake manifold. Specifically, it is typically positioned near the back of the manifold, close to the throttle body. You may need to remove some components for better access, but it is generally identifiable by its connector and is mounted directly to the manifold.
Where is the vehicle speed sensor pick up located in a 1994 Pontiac Trans Port?
There are two, one which feeds the PCM in the water pump, another for the guage in the drivers's side of the block just below the plugs.
transmission temperature sensor location
there are 2. the one that goes to the dashboard coolant temp sensor is on the left bank under the exhaust manifold in the water jacket on the block.it looks like a lil pin head with a hook on it. the one that goes to the pcm is on the intake manifold next to the water neck.
Does your vehicle have the LT1? if so there is no crank sensor.. there is an optic sensor in the distributor that controls all..
Have the coolant temperature sensor checked, or replace it. (under the intake manifold)....The overdrive will not engage, unless the computer reads that the coolant temp. is at a certain level.
