I don't think Chevy changed the location of the knock sensor. On my 1994 4.3 its on the left hand (drivers side). There are 2 sensors there, one of them is the temp gauge sending unit and the other is the knock sensor.
If your refering to the engine knock sensor, it is moounted in the side of the cylinder head and has a single wire connector. try not to damage it when removing, it is a piezo electric device and is vulnerable to impact.
A MAF sensor was not used in 1994. It don't have one.
