The power steering pump is located on the driver side lower part of the engine. You must look to the right of where you put the oil in. It is helpful if you pull up on the plastic engine cover and pop it back into place after adding the power steering fluid. You must add dexIII mercon automatic transmission fluid because the 2001 ml320 has a power steering pump that requires it rather than traditional power steering fluid
