All the newer cars have a drain plug, but most of them are hard to find, are plastic, so they can break easily, and are a pain to get at. For these reasons it may be easier to loosen one side of the lower radiator hose to drain coolant. This is faster and does a better job. Update: The drain plug is on the left side of the radiator at the bottom, just above the radiator lower mount. Use a 19mm socket to loosen but dont over tighten on reinstallation. You may need to move the black plastic shroud on the bottom of the car if so equiped to see the plug.

To drain the radiator on a 2003 Monte Carlo, first ensure the engine is cool and then locate the radiator drain plug, usually found at the bottom of the radiator. Place a container underneath to catch the coolant, then open the drain plug and allow the coolant to flow out. Once drained, close the drain plug securely, and refill the radiator with the appropriate coolant mixture. Always dispose of the old coolant properly, as it is hazardous.
