Passenger side rear bottom of engine The starter is located driver's side bottom rear of engine. Follow red power line from battery down to starter, two bolts, 9/16 I believe, to remove. Don't forget to disconnect the positive(red) wire from battery before working.

On a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, the starter is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the bottom. To access it, you may need to remove the battery and the battery tray for better visibility and space. The starter is mounted to the engine block and connected to the transmission.

its a bit tough but first disconnect the battery.then jack the car up safely.after that remove the two starter mounting bolts and pull the starter out slowly.then unbolt the wires at the starter when the starter is hanging by the wires(carefully)remove the starter and reverse the steps to reinstall the starter and reconnect the battery Here's a writeup on the process. http://hubpages.com/hub/Starter-Removal-1999-Pontiac-Grand-Prix
