A synapse is the junction in between neurones where the original electrical impulses being used to send messages to and from receptor and effector, must be converted into a chemical form and cross a gap between the dendrite and axon terminal. This gap is also commonly known as a synaptic cleft.

Now since these synapses are used for neurons to communicate with each other, since neurons cannot communicate directly. Neurones occur all over the body as parts of the nervous system so therefore so too must synapses occur lest the presence of the neurones would be pointless.

SUMMARY : Synapses occur throughout the body, wherever there are senses present.

What is the range of synapses in numbers?

Your question doesn't make much sense. Perhaps you mean neurons, not numbers. I have included a link on synapes. See related link. I suggest re-submitting the question making it more clear the information you desire.

What is somato somatic synapes?

This is a type of referred pain which occurs when sensory information comes to the spinal cord, but is interpreted by the brain and spinal cord as coming from another location. For example, when someone has sciatica, the pain is felt down the leg, when the origination point may be a pinched nerve in the lower spinal column.

Part of brain stem between diencephalon and pons?

The part of the brain stem between the diencephalon and the pons is the midbrain, also known as the mesencephalon. It plays a crucial role in motor movement, auditory and visual processing, and regulating sleep-wake cycles. The midbrain contains structures such as the tectum, tegmentum, and substantia nigra.

What is the title to Dan bern's Stew Leonard's grocery store song?

This is great song, possibly about either Thanksgiving or Christmas in Darien, Connecticut. One verse I remember (my fried synapes...) "running the wrong way through Stew Leonards.." I have been to this particular store (which has everything, like Disney World of food.) Please help me get the title so that I can buy the CD. Thank you, Jesse

What happens at the Synapes?

Chemical synapses are specialized junctions through which neurons signal to each other and to non-neuronal cells such as those in muscles or glands. Chemical synapses allow neurons to form circuits within the central nervous system. They are crucial to the biological computations that underlie perception and thought. They allow the nervous system to connect to and control other systems of the body. -Wiki

How are impulses passed through synapes?

When an action potential reaches the end of a neuron's axon (presynaptic terminal), it triggers the release of neurotransmitters into the synaptic cleft. These neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the next neuron's dendrites, causing ion channels to open and generate a new action potential, continuing the signal transmission.
