Look under the hood, at the throttle body assembly. You should see the accelerator cable attached to a pulley like assembly and when the pedal is depressed, the cable should move the throttle valve. The throttle position sensor is attached to the shaft that the throttle cable is moving. It will be the part with the electrical connections.
throttle position sensors are usually on the opposite side of the mechanisim that operates the valve inside the throttle body (wether its the simple old school cable, or a newer drive by wire setup. if its a drive by wire setup it may be integrated within the electric motor that moves the valve in the throttle body). Either way it should be right there at the throttle body, which can be found between the air filter and the intake on the engine, closer to the intake.
On a 2003 Saturn Ion with a 2.2L engine, the crankshaft position sensor is located on the engine block, near the rear of the engine, close to the transmission. Specifically, it can typically be found mounted near the crankshaft pulley, making it accessible from underneath the vehicle. To reach it, you may need to remove some components for better access.
I know because mine just went out this morning. TPS - Throttle Position Sensor. In lamens terms it's what tells your car that your pushing the gas pedal. Without it you'll notice your car has no umph. It doesn't recognize you're accelerating.
PCV valve
in the exhaust manifold or before the catalic converter
It has two. They must be replaced, not cleaned.
one is front of the cat and one after the cat of the exhaust
Saturn Ion was created in 2003.
Saturn is the make, ion is the model.
