This particular vehicle has a sealed system and cannot be checked unless checked by a professional transmission mechanic or by the dealership. Note that the time for an inspection that should be made is when a leak is noticed or the routine maintenance requires an inspection or other maintenance involving repair.

I was looking at the 2000 Lincoln LS Owner Guide and it shows that the 5R55N automatic transmission does not have a fluid level dipstick
