I just spent 4 days trying to answer that same question, but at last I found it! You have to remove the knee bolster (but I'll bet since October when you posted this question you've already removed it, your guage panel, your stereo, your glove compartment, and your a/c controls looking for that damn flasher). Once you do, look on the left wall (left as in you're sitting in the driver's seat facing forward). You should see the top of a small metal clip that is holding something to the other side of that wall. Pull that clip up and you will notice that it is holding the flasher! Additional InformationWe used the answer above to help us on a 2002 Firebird and found the Emergency Flasher unit clipped on the left wall as described above. We located the Turn Signal Flasher unit on the right wall. In our case the Turn Signal Flasher was flashing too fast and we were able to locate the unit by listening for the clicking sound.
2001 firebird, found the wire and relay hidden right on that spot, just look for the sound.
