If all you want to do is see other windows occasionally then just use Alt Tab. The only way I can think of would be to alter the shortcut to the game to run in compatability mode, and then selecting Run in Window.

Yeah you can use it. But don't just keep the download game forever. If you feel the game is good then buy it from a nearest store. You should also remember that you cannot play online with the same serial number (CD key) at the same time so i suggest buying another CD key one if you do want to play online with someone else you know!
