If you bought the game legally, there should be a "CD Key" printed on a green slip in the box. It is sometimes in the manual too.

Where do you save your Rome Total War mods to?

Go to the CD drive of you computer in "My Computer," and from there do this:. Go to program files (there might be two files called this) ;. Search in that folder or both folders for a folder called "The Creative Assembly," once you've found it, enter it;. In there you'll immediately find a folder called "Rome Total War," DO NOT ENTER IT. This folder contains all the data for Rome total war, so losing it could be fatal;. Cut this folder and paste it some where safe in case you might need it again;. On windows seven, vista and sometimes XP as well, you may not be able to cut and paste this folder so copy and paste it instead and then create another folder called "Rome Total War," AWAY FROM THE OTHER 2 FOLDERS, and, then see next bullet point to continue;. From wherever you've saved or have your mod, cut and paste it into here;. Save the folder which your mod came inside and go back and save the "Rome Total War" folder too, now your finished! From now on when ever you play Rome Total War you'll be playing this mod! (If you are using windows seven or vista, then don't celebrate yet, look at the next bullet point to continue.);. If as I mentioned earlier, if you weren't able to cut and paste the "Rome Total War" folder and copied and pasted it instead, the copy you made should stay (and you should keep it in a safe place) and you should now cut the new "Rome Total War" folder that you made with your mod inside and paste it in the "Creative Assembly" folder, since the original "Rome Total War" folder is still there, an alert will come up saying that you have to folders called "Rome Total War" and must delete one of them, because you already have another original saved somewhere else when you did the copying and pasting, you won't lose anything if you delete the original (you'll know which is the original and which one is the new folder because underneath the newer folder, next to the date of its creation it should explicitly say "newer")Now that has been sorted out, save the new Rome Total War Folder and go back and save the "Creative Assembly Folder" and .........Now you have finished saving your mod and can play it when ever you play rometotalwar!
