Cotton fibers from denim are used in insulation
Depending on the type of insulation it could be anything from an expanding foam to fiberglass to shredded denim.
Their are many diffrent answeres the cotten denim was the most effective insulation when i did the experiment. But it depends on the wayb that you test.
Heat insulation would be wool. Note that denim is normally made of cotton, or a cotton/polyester blend. None of them would be very good electrical insulation when wet.

Denim and corduroy are both durable fabrics, but corduroy is typically warmer than denim because of its thicker and more textured material. Corduroy's ribbed structure traps more air, providing better insulation compared to denim, which is a lighter and more breathable fabric.
You can recycle cable by selling them to recycling centers or strip the insulation off with a tool like a wire cutter, a cable stripping machine etc. and sell the copper core in it.

Denim is not a particularly good insulator as it is a breathable fabric that allows air to flow through. For better insulation, materials like wool, down, or synthetic fibers are more effective at trapping heat.
