The book says that Dudley and his friend want to see animals like pythons, then finds the largest animal in the place. Vernon taps, nothing happens. Harry then talks to the snake after it winks at him.
The tag on the snake says Boa Constrictor, Brazil. When Harry breaks the glass, the snake says 'Brazil here I come,' leading us to believe the snake was going to try and travel to Brazil.

∙ 8y agoThe snake was from Brazil, but it was bred in captivity. After its release the snake was planning on heading to Brazil.

∙ 8y agoThe boa constrictor was native to Brazil. Although, having been bred in captivity had never been there. On release the snake thanks Harry and says he is headed to Brazil.
