Joshua 24:32 tells us that Joseph's bones were taken to the land of the Canaanites and buried more than four hudred years after his death: "And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph." This requires that the bones were kept safe and undisturbed through the long turmoil of slavery in Egypt, an improbable undertaking. It almost seems that this passage was written in retrospect to justify the Hebrew occupation of the land of the Canaanites.

Actually, scholars say that the Israelites were themselves Canaanites who left the coastal cities of Palestine around 1250 BCE and moved peacefully into the hitherto sparsely populated mountainous hinterland, where they established their kingdoms. The respected Israeli archaeologist, Israel Finkelstein says that over ninety percent of scholars accept that there was no biblical Exodus from Egypt, in which case the bones of Joseph were never kept for four hundred years and never carried from Egypt to the Promised Land.

What Bible verse tells where Joseph was buried?

This is the Joseph, son of Jacob who died in Egypt. Joseph gave orders to his family to take his bones when they (the Hebrews) left Egypt. About 360 years later when the Hebrews did in fact leave Egypt they took Joseph's bones and when they entered the Promised Land 40 years later they buried the bones of Joseph in Shechem (Joshua 24:32).

How did a stegosaurus's bones appear on earth's surface?

Stegosaurus's bones were buried around 150 to 155 million years ago. Over time, they fossilized and were buried very deep. However, the processes that formed the Rocky Mountains eventually pushed those rocks up towards the surface. Then weathering and erosion eventually dug away the exposed rock above the Stegosaurus fossil. Eventually, the fossils were close enough to the surface to be discovered.
