On the rear of the transfer case, near the output.
The electric shift motor is located on the rear of the transfer case. Attached by 4 bolts and a wiring harness.
The encoder motor is located on the transfer case. The transfer case is on the driver's side of the truck. It resides between the front drive line, and the wall of the transfer case.
It just unbolts. I think it like 3 or 4 bolts.

Any tansfercase motor is to switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive. It is located behide the transfer case and it has 6-7 wire plug. Only automatic push button 4 wheel drive trucks have the transfer case motor.
Located in the transfer case. You need to remove front driveline, then remove three bolts holding motor. Pretty simple job.
Remove the glove box door and you will see the resisior attached with 2 screws.
