Why can television satellites which broadcast information as electromagnetic radiation send signals from the vacuum of space?

i should imagine its because EM waves can travel through a vacuum so that's why it is possible for satellites to broadcast information from impulse signals sent from outer space

Why does tv use radio waves?

because on the em spectrum, radio waves are the lowest. if a tv used a higher raadioactive source like uv and you were exposed to it to much (by watching to much tv) you could get cancer and die unfortunately.

What are radio waves primarily used for?

The Radio Waves are basically the Electromagnetic(EM) Waves. The suitable data or we can say the equations which are useful in generation of EM Waves was given by the Godfather of communication Sir James Clerk Maxwell. And that four Equations are used as practically by Sir Heinrich Hertz. The Radio Waves are used for the Telecommunication which means the long distance communication.

What does the e stand for in EM waves?

What is the energy transferred as em waves?

EM waves or electromagnetic waves is radiant energy.

Why antenna is a sensor of EM waves?

The transmitter sends out EM waves. EM waves are a carrier of energy and are produced by oscillating charges - usually caused by connecting metal to AC power supply. The waves travel through a medium and transfers its energy to the antenna which is basically a metal rod. The energy causes charges in the metal to oscillate at a certain frequency, controlled at the transmitting end. The charges oscillate to produce corresponding EM waves which can be detected/read as signals and turned into sound energy etc...

Electromagnetic waves of the longest wavelength carry the greatest energy?

No. The energy of an EM wave is E = h*c / (wavelength), therefore waves with the shortest wavelength (or highest frequency) carry the greatest energy.
