Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American farmer and activist who, along with Dolores Huerta, founded the National Farm Workers Association. He strongly supported the Delano grape strike, initiated by a group of Filipino workers, who demanded for the higher wages, equal to the federal minimum wage. He, along with the National Farm Workers Association, asked the general population to boycott table grapes to show support for their movement. This strike lasted five years and was even supported by Robert F. Kennedy, when he was a member of the Subcommittee on Migratory Labor.

Glad you asked it is Boycott ♥♥♥♥
Boycott is a word that originally came from Captain Charles Boycott. He was a land agent and when his tenants suffered form a poor harvest he reduced the rent. The tenants demanded a bigger reduction and he refused and then tried to evict them. However, a local proposal stated that if this happened then those taking over the farms should shun them. However, this was applied to Boycott and he was isolated and no one would work for him or trade with him. In 1880 the term Boycott was first used the The Times newspaper referring to organized isolation.
The Alabama bus boycott was started when Rosa Parks was asked to get out of her seat for a white man. She had been sitting in the white section of the bus (buses were segregated), but the white section was full and when Parks was asked to move she kindly replied ,"no." She was sent to jail and this infuriated the African Americans and they decided to boycott the buses. They went for 382 days without riding the bus, and finally Rosa Parks was let out of jail, and Jim Crow Laws (legal name for segregation) were "kicked off" the bus. Also martin Luther kings house was bombed.
It was in Nashville, Tennessee where the civil rights movement won a major victory when the mayor admitted that it was wrong to discriminate against people on the basis of color. The mayor was asked the question by Diane Nash, an activist.
