In my experience the females are nicer, the male in my case was not aggressive or anything but the females were more peaceful, quieter and loving. But there were 4 female dogs and 1 male dog so that could influence it. I have known a few Bernese where the females were reserved and cautious and the males were easy going and friendly. I think it depends on the individual personality of each dog, and the socialisation of them.

∙ 13y agoIt often revolves around how the dog is raised and trained, but it's generally thought that females are 'nicer' as they lack the testosterone fuelled reactions of a male dog, so often aren't as aggressive. This isn't always the case though, some females really live up to the term 'bitch' and some males are soppy as can be. Still, I'd say female.

You are much safer on getting a nicer hamster if you get a male. I would recommend a Syrian hamster. They are the nicest of all the hamster breeds. DO NOT keep them in the same cage.
