All evidence points to the fact that Gauguin might have been drawn to the Mahu culture of a boy performing feminine duties. Drag queens were prevalent in Tahitian culture one which drew the focus of Gauguin. His children are not the reason to believe that he was heterosexual look at his Polynesian artwork!

Paul Gauguin painted Tahitian Landscape when he was in Italy. He had been drunk the night before and woke up to that view (the painting) in 1888
The painting is by Paul Gauguin. He became disenchanted by the ugliness of city life and after seeing a brochure about Tahiti he left Paris. The time period was about 1892 when this painting was done.
