The 'wick' not the wax is what makes one candle burn faster than the other. Most people want long lasting wicks for their candles so get a good quality one if you are making candles. If you are buying candles cheap ones are OK if you burn a fair amount of them. If you want a candle that is fairly large and want it to last so you can relight it then buy a good candle with a good wick. You can tell if the wick is good if it's not frayed at the top and the wick is tightly woven.
There must be thousands of different brands of candles. Maybe you meant to ask what type, like paraffin or Beeswax? From my experience with candles, the ones that burn fastest are narrow paraffin candles, especially cheap ones. Birthday cake candles are a good example. A narrow candle has a smaller liquid pool at the top, causing the wick to burn down quicker, and also allows a lot of the wax to run down the sides of the candle, which starves the wick of wax and consumes it faster. Also, the size of the flame is not necessarily larger on a bigger candle. Flame size is dependent upon the size of the wick, and the liquid wax's ability to saturate and climb it. The wick only begins to shorten when there is not enough wax available to keep the wick saturated. A thinner candle generally has a higher Flame/mass ratio, allowing the wax to be consumed faster.
Red and green candles are the most popular, but white, gold, and other colors of candles are used, too.
candles were invented to light up the houses of the colonists
Yes they do but not that much of a difference. They might just burn 15 to 30 more min. : D
There is no real difference between colored candles and white candles in terms of burn times - the deciding factors are the melting point of the wax and the length of the wick.
Bees wax natural candles tend to last the longest, but you can get any and all candles to last longer by first chilling them, either in the refrigerator or in the freezer at least a day before using them.
For emergencies, zinc-cored wicks are best because the zinc makes them burn the longest.

I dont know about what brand burns the slowest as there would be thousands of brands out there, mostly all made from the same thing but if you freeze or refridgerate your candles they will last hours longer.

No. you could time them.
It is because they just burn faster
=YES RED UNSCENTED CANDLES BURN FASTER THAN WHIT UNSCENTED CANDLES!=
colour is colour... it depends on the make, if its a more expensive candle, it will last longer if the brand is quality
Because scented candles are scented using a chemical smell that will make the flame burn more through the candles wax.
