To answer that question properly, a person has to compare top models of each caterory. Of those vehicles, somewhere in the 90's I would guess, would be the police versions, of which I have much experience in working on, driving, and yes, riding in. That dual overhead cam motor Ford was using, has lots of low end, but tops out a little bit, which, I believe, has a lot to do with the trans gearing. The Chevy would have an overall better feal for, say, quarter mile, but, they both leave a lot to be desired in that area. I think Chevy kind of dropped the ball on that one. I guess the answer to your question would have to be the Ford. Chuck.
there is no such thing as a 2001 caprice ,Chevrolet stopped producing the caprice in 1996
... in what?
no
if a dodge neon would race a crown Victoria the neon would start of faster but after a while the power of a v8 engine the neon will get left behind the crown Victoria has great acceleration
It was a full-size four-door rear-wheel-drive car made by Ford between 1979 (when it was called the LTD) and 2012. It was also sold, with different trim packages, as the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Lincoln Town Car. The Crown Victoria sold largely to two groups of customers: fleet operators - mainly police and fire departments - and senior citizens. After Chevrolet discontinued the Caprice Classic, the Crown Victoria became America's most popular police car.
caprice. hands down. quicker acceleration, better handling, more power, better stopping, higher top speed, larger aftermarket support. plus if you're rear ended in a caprice it wont blow up like a crown vic thanks for the info but atleast with a crown vic i will have fire works every Canada day
Nitrous, intake, exhaust etc. Chip or tuning also
Not without modifications, so do us all a favor and do that to a Crown Vic or Caprice Classic instead of an SRT
Not very much maby 5 -10 hp
