I'd go with a Labrador, as Cockers can be very hyper and some have a bad habit of biting :( Labs are much sweeter and are very obedient :)

What is easier to train cavalaier king Charles spaniel or American cocker spaniel?

Both the Cavalaier King Charles and the American Cocker Spaniel are very trainable dogs. But how capable an owner is in doing the training is also part of this equation. If you've never trained a puppy or dog before, you would get the best results by enrolling in a dog obedience class (or Puppy Kindergarten) so that you can get a little instruction in how to train your dog.

Who is better cocker spaniel or a pug?

It really depends what you want. Cocker spaniel's are often Bonkers, Mad, Mental and Crazy! Where as so are Cockapoo's. A cockapoo is a mixed breed cross between a Cocker spaniel and a poodle. Poodle females are very nice and easy to potty train. I personally have a Cocker Spaniel and I love him to bits, he is going 7 soon and has calmed down a lot over the years, so always keep that in mind. Just down the road from me lives a family with a labradoodle dog, a mixed breed cross between a labrador and a poodle, this is a big dog but is quite shy and grumpy. Most cross breeds have a very different personality other than Cocker Spaniel.

Are cocker spaniel temperamental?

cocker spaniels are temperemental and very vicious at times ^ this is not true! We have always had cocker spaniels and they are very very friendly, brill with children and strangers and extremely loyal. They are excellently well behaved and easy to train but can be full of energy. -I agree with the first statement. Every Cocker I have been around has been very temperamental and the one I currently have to deal with is very aggressive, even with his owner of 8 years that has owned him since he was a puppy. I am not saying that every cocker is mean or temperamental, but a good number of them are and from what I have read online and have been told by my professors (in veterinarian classes and animal behavior classes) you are more likely to be bitten by a cocker spaniel than most other breeds.
