Hi Guys the First Chinese Dynasty was the Xia Dynasty. Yu the Great established this Dynasty in 1600 BC. When he got killed china was ruled by the shang Dynasty Changes from Deathmanf1re: The first dynasty was not Xia as some people say. Yan Huang Zi Sun was the first dynasty. The first guy was Huang Di then Yao then Sun and finally Yu. The reason why they started Xia dynasty is because before Xia, people were elected to be the leader but Yu was killed by his son and his son was the leader so people think that only the oldest son can be the emperor/leader.
The dates of Yu are 2200 – 2101 BC.

No written records have been found from the Xia dynasty and there is dispute as to whether this legendary dynasty existed.
There is little evidences been discovered till now to trace the Xia Dynasty. Less historic records make this period as a legendary dynasty till now.

It depends, as the records seem to indicate the Shang Dynasty co-existed with the Legendary Xia Dynasty, 4000 years ago. The First Emporer of the Shang Dynasty is 大乙 (Estimated 1600 BCE) who founded the dukedom (Before the Shang supplanted the Xia). The First Emporer of the Xia Dynasty (Estimated 2070 BCE) is 大禹 or Yu the Great, the legendary founder of China's first dynasty. This is recorded in the Bamboo Annals or 汲冢紀年,a Chinese chronicle that begins at the time (the Yellow Emperor) and extends to the Warring States Period (5th century BC-221 BC).
