Best Answer

The pituitary gland, which is influenced by the hypothalmus region. The hypothalmus is responsible for monitoring the water levels in blood. If water levels are too low in the blood, ADH will be produced by the pituitary gland and released.

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also known as Vasopresin, is made in the hypothalamus but is stored and released from the posterior pituitary. ADH controls the amount of fluid eliminated from the kidneys (diuresis) by adjusting the permeability of solute-free water filtration in the tubules. Baroreceptors and chemoreceptors monitor the blood pressue and chemical make-up. With lower blood pressure or low salt and water contentration in the blood, these receptors trigger the release of ADH.
