These days, you pretty much get what you pay for. For the same amount of money, a bike from Kona vs a bike from Specialized will be different in character, but not really either better or worse.

Depends on what you want from your bike. A MTB is likely to have better riding characteristics than a freestyle bike, important if you want to cover any distances with your bike. But if you only want to ride at skate parks, then a freestyle bike is probably the better choice.

Neither is better than the other It's simply down to personal preference Some factors to consider are: 20 inch bikes are easier to jump and you can jump higher 24 inch bikes are better for jumping large gaps on, and will often have better brakes than 20 inch bikes (20 inch bikes usually have U brakes while 24 inch bikes have disks)

The best BMX Brands that mass produce thier bikes are probobly WeThePeople and Sunday Bikes. There are, however many companies out there that make even better BMXes but they are not very well known.
Well it depends on the year of the bike and what you are looking for. Older Mongoose ( pre-2000) were decent bikes. Now they arent that good so no doubt Hoffman is the better bike.
