They serve different purposes. Lip balm is used to soothe and soften lips, while lip gloss is used to give lips color and shine. One is medicinal and the other is cosmetic. Some people wear lip gloss over lib balm but depending on your lip balm/gloss this may or may not work. You can also get lip balm that is tinted which can give you a subtle gloss effect.

∙ 12y agoWell, all lip gloss is fine. Just, my advice is that if you are young, like ten to thirteen, do NOT where trampy red lip gloss that'll make you look slutty, it doesn't look good. Of course, whatever lip gloss that you like best is obviously best for you.
A good lip gloss goes well with your skin tone and gives your lips color OR shine, and sometimes both. You can start wearing lip gloss at ages eleven and twelve, but if you want to when you're ten, my advice for ten year olds is just shine. Don't add a lot of color, because you'll look like a slut.
So, whatever lip gloss is good for you, is best for you!

∙ 13y agoLip gloss is better if you want to have shiny lips, it may not last as long as lip stick. Lip stick will usually last longer and gives you a more matte finish, it is probably the better choice out of the two if you want it to last longer.

are you serious? do you not know how they make their lips pale ?they obviously use cover up or foundation. doiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii,lol put clear chapstick/lip gloss on but only light then put foundation/coverup oer it then put more chapstick/lipgloss over top if u want lol not that hard but its better to use powder foundation otherwise it mite go clumpy.Foundation lips = ewww. Gosh girlss getta grip. Putting foundation on lips dries them out big time, and you'll end up with shrivvled up chapped lips and what guy would wana kiss you then?If your that desperate to have pale/light coloured lips, then go into boots or whatever and ask a shop assistant for the lightest shade of lipstick. I got some recently & all you do is apply it and if you want add a little bit of lipgloss over the top. But for girls who put foundation on their lips and then chapstick/lipgloss, half way through the day you get this nasty white line on your lips and walking round with a white line on your lips looks discusting. So for all youu lot. Put foundation on your face not your lips!xXxXx

despite popular belief, you cannot get plumper lips due to lip plumpers. all these do is swell your lips for a second and then go back down. One way that used to work for me was to put chapstick on and then a thicker layer of lipgloss over it. though if you curl your lips into your mouth and push them together, It SHOULD NOT hurt! it will help them to be plumper. it has the same effect as kissing, which if you're in a relationship is recommended!
How can you stop chapped lips?
A good way to stop chapped lips is to drink lots of water to keep them moist. Cold air usually dries them out and "chaps" your lips so if you wanted to go so far as keeping them warm by staying inside...that would work. And if your lips are already chapped, I'm sure you know this, chapstick is always an option! Hope this helps! :)

It may help but not for a whole week. Maybe a day or less ? It only seems to refresh your lips but it doesn't heal it. I'd use Chapstick if I were you. Or if you're a girl you can also use Lip Gloss . Either would work for a girl. But if your a guy you'd go with Chapstick.
