Turion 64 is based on Athlon 64's architecture, and the main difference between Turion 64 and Athlon 64 Mobile is
the power consumption, which is lower on Turion 64: Athlon 64 Mobile dissipates 65 W while Turion 64 dissipates only
35 W (ML models) or 25 W (MT models). Another difference between them is the amount of L2 cache, which is always of 1 MB
on Athlon 64 Mobile, while Turion 64 can have a L2 memory cache of 512 KB or 1 MB, depending on the model
In addition - Athlon was developed mainly for desktop and turion for laptops Answer
Overall Athlon range is economy version and has less performance compared to Turion which are relatively high end processors. Although initially Athlon name was used only for desktop processors, later both Turion and Athlon brands have been used for dual core processors designed for notebook computers. Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core processor family is AMD's most advanced family of dual-core processors made for mobility to date. Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor family is a more affordable relatively lower performance range of processors for notebook PCs. Exact specification and performance numbers depends on the model number of the processor in respective families.

Yes, You are right neeraj, i agree with your answer.
If it's just between those two, Athlon is better by a long shot. Turion processors are low-power, lower-performance processors designed for laptops. However, since the original Athlon line of processors is no longer in production, the new Athlon II line of processors is very cheap, starting at about $50 for the Athlon II X2 dual-cores, which run on the AM3 socket.
Well, an Athlon is designed for a desktop, thus producing more heat. Turion is made for a laptop, less heat and more battery. Although an Athlon is slightly faster, it with have a low battery.
it does depend on what processing speed you have for example a phenom 2 might have 3.2 ghz while turion might have 2-3 ghz, it really does depend check it, by going on to my computer and system!
Those are two different types of processors, and each come in different speeds.
AMD Athlon and Turion are both AMD dual core mobile processors that are used in laptops now. They are both equally good however the Athlon gets better reviews.
Its not needed but recommended for better use.
its basicly the same, but without L3, lower speeds
You can use an amd sempron or an amd athlon II with an am3 socket, but when am3 was released it was meant to be used with the amd phenom line of CPUs. You can use all three: amd sempron, amd athlon II & amd phenom.
Yes, the AMD Phenom II X4 955 is a quad core processor meaning that this processor has four cores or CPUs.
Am3 pga
The AMD Phenom II X3 720 CPU can operate at up to 73 degrees celsius, but standard operating temperatures will range from 35-42 degrees celsius.
The top three AMD processors are all part of the new Phenom II X6 six-core processor lineup, codenamed "Thuban". They are as follows: (prices quoted are from Newegg.com) Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition - 3.3 GHz - $269.99 Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition - 3.2 GHz - $229.99 Phenom II X6 1075T - 3.0 GHz - $199.99 All three have a 125 watt power consumption and run on AMD's Socket AM3.
Intel: - Core i7 - Core i5 - Core 2 Duo AMD: - Athlon II x4 - Phenom II x4 - Opteron
For AMD - AMD Phenom II X4 920 For Intel - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Intel processor is rated slightly faster overall than the AMD processor but the cost of other things (i.e. motherboards) may make the AMD processor the better deal.
A. AM2 B. AM2+ C. AM3 D. Socket 940
Technically, it would be the Core i7-970, a six-core processor which runs at 3.2 GHz on the LGA 1366 socket and is priced at a whopping $899.99. If given a choice, go for the Phenom II X6 1045T. It's a much better deal for the price.
Yes. 64 KBytes for Data & 64 Kbytes for Instructions. It is the same as the Athlon 64 X2
