Solar panels and wind turbines are both great ways of making green energy. Wind turbines are much more efficient if they are used in a very windy environment where solar panels are much better in a high sun environment. Both are useful but location is the main factor in deciding which to use.

nuclear is better because it takes 1600 acres of solar panels just to make about 150 megawatts of electricity, and it only takes 3 grams of uranium to make the same amount. solar power is also unreliable and very costly. I hope that helped.

Also Penisland USA suplies 69 grams

No even though alot of people lean to wards solar power actually they are both equal.

By equal we mean both are almost completely useless. A typical 10 KWH wind system can deliver and average of 1 kwh or less over time. This is because of their rating system. Rating a wind system at 28 mph means that you will see the rated power only when the wind reaches that speed. At a more normal 14 mph. we will see 10% of rated power (assuming no breakdown) Even this wind will vary, so fossil fuel plants run at standby to supply power when these systems are lulled by lower wind. Net result, no fuel savings or CO2 savings.

Solar has it's own issues. They rate a solar panel at a max current shorted and a max voltage open circuit. Watts are then determined by voltage (max) times current (Max). This is an impossible situation to ever see. A 75 watt panel will normally deliver (on a cool day) about 56 watts. This efficiency goes down drastically in warmer weather (you know, areas that are sunny). A typical 75 watt panel may deliver 150 to 200 watts in a given day. This power must also be converted into AC power. Gridable systems will lose 20% of this. Modified sine wave systems are better (90%), but destroy electronics over time.

Bottom line that both feel good, but actually cost more power then they ever deliver

Why is wind energy called solar energy?

Wind energy is not called solar energy. Solar energy is the energy from the sun, while wind energy is just wind energy.

How is wind a form of solar energy?

Wind is not a form of Solar Energy. Wind energy in terms of windmills are powered by the wind driving a motor whilst solar involves a more chemical process for Photovoltaic cells, and heating for thermal cells.

What are two differences between using solar energy and wind energy?

1. solar energy you get from the sun while wind energy you get from the wind 2. solar energy you have to have solar things (ex solar ovens) wind energy you need a windmill for.

solar energy is energy from the sun and wind energy is energy from the wind

What sources of energy are wind and solar?

Wind and solar are renewable energy.

Is wind energie the same as solar energy?

No, wind energy comes from the wind and solar energy comes from the sun.

What is the source of energy that causes wind to blow?

The energy to create wind comes from solar energy.

What are the 3 areas of energy research that scientist are working on today?

solar, hybrid and wind

Is solar energy widely accepted?

Not as Much as Wind, Because Solar Panels Cost More Than Wind Turbines , If the Two Create The Same Amount Of Energy The Solar Would Have Costed More to produce the Panels.

What is the difference between solar energy and wind energy?

The difference between solar energy and wind energy is that solar energy comes from the sun and is in the form of waves. However they are both renewable energy resources.
