The polar bear is much larger and a more beastly killer. Polar bears weigh around 500 1000 pounds and stand 6 to 10 ft tall on their hind legs. Grizzly bears weigh around 500 to 800 pounds and stand around 7 ft all on their hind legs.

∙ 6y agoThe Polar Bear is larger. The Polar Bear and the Kodiak Bear are about the same size. An adult male is about 770 - 1500 lbs. (350 - 680 kg.). The Grizzly Bear is about 300 - 1200 lbs. (136 - 545 kg.). The Polar Bear is also the world's largest land carnivore.

∙ 9y agoFirst, the grizzly is a North American race of the brown bear, found in inland areas. This race does not on average get as big as polar bears. But the larger coastal brown bears do get as big as polar bears.

∙ 9y agoNo. On average, males of each species can be around 800-1200 pounds. A record brown weighing 1556 pounds was taken, and there was a polar bear that was claimed to be over 2100 pounds, but in fact was only 1300 pounds.
