Which is correct you are in school or you are at school?

You are in school would be correct if it was said like "I am in school." You are at school would be correct when used like "She is at school."


But, this answer does not clarify a thing. Namely, whether it is more correct to say "at school" or "in school" - and if both are correct, which one is used in which situation/context.
