ATHLON II is the newer processor
I actually own this processor, and would be glad to give you the details! The AMD Athlon II X3 445 is a three-core AMD processor that is in the Athlon II line. The 445 indicates it's rank in the Athlon II lineup, about mid-range. It has a clock speed of 3.1 gigahertz, level 1 and 2 cache memory, and it runs on all Socket AM3 motherboards. It's about $79.99 at most major retailers, such as Newegg.com, which makes it a great buy for the excellent performance you'll get out of it. I highly recommend it!
I use AMD Athlon everytime I use my PC that I built with the AMD Athlon II X3 450, and I also use AMD Athlon everytime I use my sister's Toshiba Satellite Laptop, or my mom's Compaq laptop. So in short, I use AMD Athlon whenever I'm using a computer that runs off an AMD Athlon which, by the way, are many.
You can use an amd sempron or an amd athlon II with an am3 socket, but when am3 was released it was meant to be used with the amd phenom line of CPUs. You can use all three: amd sempron, amd athlon II & amd phenom.

Can I update my CPU AMD p340 (Athlon II) on my Lenovo Edge 15 (code is 0302) with a better performance AMD as a 4 core, for example? Or in general a better AMD processor? Thanks
by far not even a comparison
Yes it is! The AMD Athlon II series is based on the AM3 processor socket, which is compatible with the ASRock N68-S3 motherboard!
i know that it means 2 processors are linked together in one circuit ...BUT does that means that i have 1 processor of AMD Athlon II X2 + 1AMD processor Athlon II X2 OR Both linked together =1AMD processor Athlon II X2
Intel: - Core i7 - Core i5 - Core 2 Duo AMD: - Athlon II x4 - Phenom II x4 - Opteron
The Intel chip is faster and is easier to overclock than the athlon.
