The first wonder of the world is The Great Pyramid of Giza aka Pyramid of Khufu in Egypt. There have been hundreds of variations but this was a first... The Great Pyramid of Giza was aka the Pyramid of Cheops, which was the Greek form of the name of 4th Dynasty Egyptian King Khufu. It always has been the oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the only wonder surviving in our days. The other six wonders were the Colossus of Rhodes, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the temples of Artemis at Ephesus and of Zeus at Olympus, and the Tomb at Halicarnassus. Identification of the seven as miraculous achievements was based on lists from the writings of Historian Herodotus [484 BC-ca. 425 BC] and Scholar Callimachus of Cyrene [ca. 305-240]. The earliest identifications chose the Ishtar Gate of Babylon, over the Alexandria Lighthouse.
