A line from Robinson Crusoe that supports the theme of religion is when Crusoe reflects on his survival of the shipwreck and attributes it to God's providence and mercy, expressing gratitude for being spared. This demonstrates the role of faith and divine intervention in shaping Crusoe's experiences and decisions throughout the novel.

As far as Robinson Crusoe's religious themes are concerned, the idea of 'Providence' plays a prominent role. Crusoe perpetually keeps remarking in the novel that he has been guided by a divinely ordained fate, which he thinks is responsible in keeping him alive while all the rest of the crew members had been drowned in the ship-wreak. He is of the view that he has been 'provided' this chance by God's will which he feels is supposed to be complied by and accepted unconditionally.

His inclination towards religion is perhaps the most prominent aspect that has been emphasized throughout the novel. He finds God entirely on his own and not by attending sermons or by visiting churches. He discovers God with the exclusive aid of The Bible he had with him. This is intended for asserting the view that God is to be found entirely by one's own force of seeking and not by receiving any sort of preachings.

His nature of Protestanism is shown when he remains unable to preach Man Friday about the aspects of Christianity even though he manages to Christianize him. This inability in him makes him generate a suspicion towards the priesthoods and he adversely attacks the entire catholic church and its systems.

His idea of providence and his religious inclination is is also displayed when he proposes the two qualities of a good Christian, 1) to submit oneself entirely to the God's will and 2) to always remain thankful to God. He reiterates that since it is his responsibility to remain thankful and submit himself to god, whatever circumstances he might have to face, good or bad is completely a matter of 'providence'.

Therefore, the theme of religion is Robinson Crusoe is the most important one and is prominent throughout the novel.
