rev tec oil lines diagram
secure a section or high pressure oil cooler hose over the break until a proper line can be located.
If this vehicle has a transmission cooler then it will have one line to the cooler then another for the return line to the transmission.
The front fitting on the transmission is the hot pressured oil going to the oil cooler, the rear one is the return.
Front ¼" Pipe Cooler feed/out Rear ¼" Pipe Return/in
It should not matter as one is pressure and the other is return from the transmission oil cooler.
Depending on where the leak is, if there is a weakness in the 350 it was with the oil cooler lines. It turns out that most of the oil leaks from the cooler lines has nothing to do with seals. It's a problem with the cooler line.
On a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice, the return line for the transmission cooler is typically the one that connects to the bottom of the transmission cooler in the radiator. This line carries the fluid back to the transmission after it has been cooled. The supply line, on the other hand, feeds the fluid from the transmission to the cooler, usually connected at the top. Always verify with a service manual for your specific vehicle for the most accurate information.
Connected to the bottom of the radiator you will see 2 lines. One is the inlet and one is the outlet. The cooler line is the return (outlet) line.
Return is the one that connects to the rear of the transmission.Return is the one that connects to the rear of the transmission.
You can buy a replacement cooler line assembly that goes between the oil filter and the radiator. I believe Autozone can get this buy order. Takes about 30min to replace.
The top line is always the return line, The cooler has to fill from the bottom or the fluid would get airated.
I have a 93 roadmaster and I'm trying to put a radiator in, so what size line wrenches do i need to connect the oil cooler
