Which lunar phases would be visible in the sky at dawn?
Full, waning gibbous, Third Quarter, waning crescent, and new.
At midnight?
Third Quarter, waning gibbous, full, waxing gibbous, and first quarter.
The lunar phase which is visible for the entire night is the full moon. Every phase except new moon is visible at some time during the night, though. It might be right before sunrise, or right after sunset.
The moon is visible somewhere in the sky at dawn during the entire
half of the cycle of phases from Full Moon to just before New Moon.
Anything from just-past-full, all the way through waning gibbous and
waning crescent would be, but in different parts of the sky.
The annual Leonid meteor shower will be November 17-18. The moon will set around 4 a.m., so there will only be a few hours of good viewing before dawn. The Geminid meteor shower will be December 13-14. Best viewing times will be around 2 a.m.
There is no exact date of discovery. Jupiter is visible to the naked eye and has been known since before the dawn of civilization.
As I write this on August 25, 2012, Mars and Saturn are clearly visible just above the western horizon at sunset. Venus is the "Morning Star", and is the brightest thing in the sky in the eastern sky just before dawn. Jupiter rises about 1AM, and is visible until dawn. Mercury is tougher; it's currently too close to the Sun to be visible and is headed to a "superior conjunction" when Mercury will be on the other side of the Sun from us in mid-September. It will remain too close to the Sun to be visible until the end of October. By Halloween, you should have a chance to see Mercury low in the western sky just after sunset.
The New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, and Third Quarter are moments in time, with no duration. The Waxing and Waning Crescents, and the Waxing and Waning Gibbous phases, each last roughly a week.
It is visible, but not obviously as a planet. It is millions of miles away, and appears as a very bright star near the horizon, shortly before dawn or shortly after sunset. For some of the year, it is invisible because it appears too close to the Sun.
The annual Leonid meteor shower will be November 17-18. The moon will set around 4 a.m., so there will only be a few hours of good viewing before dawn. The Geminid meteor shower will be December 13-14. Best viewing times will be around 2 a.m.
eleven white squares are visible
Scientists did not find the sun. The sun has been visible to mankind since the dawn of time.
Dawn would triumph.
Because that's when the last fight scene takes place. Also all the books are titled after phases of the day and night.
"The action begins around 4:45 am Pacific Standard Time [on December 10th] when the red shadow of Earth first falls across the lunar disk. By 6:05 am Pacific Time, the Moon will be fully engulfed in red light. This event - the last total lunar eclipse until 2014 - is visible from the Pacific side of North America, across the entire Pacific Ocean to Asia and Eastern Europe. For people in the western United States the eclipse is deepest just before local dawn. Not only will the Moon be beautifully red, it will also be inflated by the Moon illusion."
.....? "Paula Dawn" appears to be a name, so therefore, you would say "Paula Dawn"
The only visible planet is Jupiter, in the southeast. This month, Jupiter rises about at sunset, and is up all night. It's the brightest thing in the sky, until Venus rises.Venus and Mars will be visible in the east before dawn. Mercury and Saturn are too close to the Sun to be visible at all.
Matariki (Pleiades cluster) is only visible in the pre-dawn sky during certain times of the year. In May, it sets shortly after sunset and is not visible. By June, it rises before dawn and becomes visible again, marking the start of the MΔori New Year. This disappearance and reappearance are due to the Earth's orbit around the Sun and the changing position of the stars in the sky throughout the year.
NO!! Taylor Swift is not in Breaking Dawn! Who would she possibly be?
Perhaps you mean Ramadan, one of the months of the Muslim lunar calendar, during which observing Muslims neither drink nor eat between dawn and dusk.
Yes, easily. It can be seen with the naked eye easily too. However, Venus is only visible either just before dawn or just after sunset; it is never visible in the middle of the night.
